General Health History:
Very healthy except for current osteoarthritis. Following is a brief history:
Born: 12/13/40 Age 3: Tonsillectomy Age 18: Married Age 21: First child (boy)-RH Factor-no ill effects Age 24: Second child (girl)- RH Factor- several negative effects. No hip joints on child, very poor eyesight. Decision not to have more children. Age 27: Bunionectomy Age 28: Hysterectomy- uterus and one ovary taken Age 29: Auto Accident: Rear-ended. Suffered severe whiplash. On painkillers for one year. Finally found relief in chiropractic Age 31: Hemorrhoidectomy Age 31: Breast Augmentation-silicone implants Age 59: Breast Replacement: saline implants
Smoked for 10 years (28 to 38)
I went into menopause at age 48. Took Premarin until 3 years ago.
Switched to Bi Est- natural compound. Good results.
I have always been very active physically-distance runner-30+ miles/mo. for 20 years. I am 5'3", 115 lbs, Caucasian. I lead a healthy lifestyle nutritionally-mostly vegetarian-last 15 years. I take supplements regularly. Besides Bi Est. I take 1500 mg. calcium w/ vitamin D, 1500 mg. glucosamine, 1200 mg. chondroitin and 1000 MSM (for arthritis) 2000-3000 mg Vitamin C ascorbate with minerals and drink lots of water. ( Penta for cleansing and free radical control)
Significant Lifestyle Issues: Currently, because of osteoarthritis, I am not able to exercise as much as I want to. Lack of range of motion and constant pain limit what I can do physically.
Current Condition and Complaint: Lack of mobility due to arthritis. Pain control becoming a real issue. Varicose veins, cold feet, muscle atrophy and bone spurs (heels and hips) make the condition acute.
Length and/or Severity of Pain: Pain started about 15 years ago. I noticed it when lying on my back-ankles crossed. Pain relieved by not crossing ankles and lowering pillow. Still running regularly.
Ten years ago my husband became ill with lung cancer. My father was ill with Alzheimer's and mother with pancreatic cancer. I was the primary (and only) caretaker.
Lots of lifting, turning, pushing wheel chairs and other physical care given. Began to notice increased pain in left hip and lower back. Husband died August 1995, father died January 1996 and mother died March 1996. Old neck injury from whip-lash surfaced within three months along with hip and back pain becoming severe. Found relief from chiropractic and massage. I became devoted to caring for myself with nutritional counseling, massage, chiropractic adjustments, orthotics, etc. Continued running some-mostly walking. Pain in hips became worse. Sold business. Retired. Moved to Colorado into old family cabin. Rested, recouped. Pain in hips became worse. I discovered MSM. Used up to 9,000 mg/day for pain control. Worked okay. Good diet, not much running. Had hips x-rayed two years ago. Orthopedic surgeon said both hips needed to be replaced. I didn't want that. I discovered glucosamine and chondroitin. Used these along with MSM. Range of motion continued to diminish and pain has increased in severity and is constant day and night. I cannot put on shoes, socks, pants, cannot pick up anything off of floor. Lose balance and fall often. As of one month ago, I have had to add pain reliever 2/200 mg Aleve every other day to get any relief from pain. Sleeping is stressful. Cannot walk very far. Sometime left hip does not support my weight and I fall. Was scheduled to have surgery in May 2002. Postponed to see if energetic healing could help avoid surgery.
SCENAR Treatments: I found out about SCENAR a month ago. I came to Texas and have had 25 treatments at Dr. Tennant's office. First Treatment: QX analysis showed my overall health to be very good with good PH balance. My immediate observation following "Little Wings" was that for the first time I can remember, my glasses were not "crooked" on my face. I felt taller and straighter. Following diagnosis and treatment, I experienced pain relief in my hips almost immediately.. I could raise my legs (knees bent and straight) from a prone position without pain, which I had not been able to do in years. I walked without pain and felt confident I was not going to fall. Pain relief lasted through the evening and into the next day. Unfortunately, I was in the process of helping my daughter move and I am sure I made the pain worse by my activities. By the next evening, the pain was back even stronger. I took two 200 mg. Aleve and had pain relief by morning. Pain returned and grew more intense the next three days.
Second Treatment: Five days following the first treatment. Again, experienced immediate pain relief. I could walk fairly confidently. However, by evening the pain had returned. I was on my feet a good deal of the time but had limited my activities that might aggravate the pain. I have this observation about a change in the pain cycle since my treatments. By pain cycle, I mean from the time a pain starts until it starts to subside (usually a few minutes). Before treatment the intensity of the pain varied only if I moved about or massaged the area or applied heat or ice. Since treatment, a pain begins with low intensity, say 3 or 4 on a scale of 10-and increases in intensity-to 10+-and then begins to subside. I never noticed this "pulsing" of pain before. It is almost the same as the cycle or "pulsing" of the SCENAR impulses on FM-Var. Since the second treatment I have been able to stay away from any activity that might aggravate the pain. I have still experienced some severe pain and use the Aleve to get relief, but I certainly realize this is not a long-term solution. One other observation: the pain I have experienced since the SCENAR treatments has been pretty severe. It is much like the pain I suffered before any kind of MSM or other treatment-very deep, long and uncomfortable. I am wondering if reconnecting my brain to the problem has caused the brain to start servicing the area again (in other words the area is no longer "numb") and maybe the increased pain is something natural and a part of the healing process. Possible?
Third Treatment: I arrived feeling extremely tired and in great pain - hips, thumbs and left ankle (varicose vein). Again, QX analysis showed me to be very healthy with good PH balance. Most of the pain was gone following treatment. I was able to walk, bend, etc. without pain and felt confident I could walk without falling. I felt "soreness" or "tenderness" in my left hip. I felt extremely "heavy" and felt weakness in my upper arms. I slept extremely well, very little tossing & turning, as is my usual habit. It was agreed I would come every day for treatment for a while.
Fourth Treatment: I felt wonderful, energetic, very little pain when I arrived. Following Paragov's ring, Little Wings and 6 Tummy Points, we treated each hip 6 minutes front and back on FM-VAR and using the Collins Diode. I felt same weakness in upper arms and very heavy. I had not eaten prior to treatment. All pain was gone following treatment, but I felt light-headed and dizzy. Within 20 minutes I was weak and I felt feint. I knew I must get something to eat and some water. After a few bites of food I began to feel better. Following lunch I was very energetic and no pain.
Fifth Treatment: Same round of treatment. Same results - no pain. I was able to walk up and down stairs without putting two feet on the stairs at the same time. Very good sleep with no pain.
Sixth-Sixteenth Treatment: Same round of treatment. Same results - no pain. I am able to increase the amount of time I am on my feet. However, I still lack range of motion. Hips are bone on bone and do not yet know if treatment will help restore missing cartilage. Have learned in the last few sessions to vary the body position on same-spot treatment. In other words, when holding the Scenar for 2 mins on a "spot" on my hips, I have learned to get better and deeper penetration if I bend forward or sideways for the second 2 mins, etc. Also, I have been trying different positions (standing versus lying down, etc.) for increased penetration.
Seventeenth Treatment: Same treatment, but noticed increase in soreness or tenderness. Range of motion very very limited.
Eighteenth Treatment: Same treatment-same soreness. Notice "tired" feeling about every fourth treatment.
Nineteenth Treatment: Same treatment. Decided to stay off my fee for three days to see if this would aid in healing since any activity seems to cause pain.
Twenty -Twenty Second Treatment: Same treatment without Collins Diode because treating myself at home. Off my feet virtually entire time. Following Paragov's Ring, little wings and 6 points on tummy, I concentrated on hip areas. I searched for points with high IR readings; and alarmed, reconnected and treated with FM Var (sometimes as long as 20 minutes each spot). Following the three days, I really felt great. I walked almost normal (without a limp). The third night, I began to experience some pain in left hip (the most degenerated).
Twenty-Third Treatment: I felt great prior to treatment. No pain following treatment. Began to experience extreme soreness and pain in hips that night. Am counting on this extreme tenderness to be an indication of healing.
