I am in the market for a power mitre. Anybody have any insight as
to which one to buy? Also, are there any good discount mail-order
outfits where one could by this and other power equipment?

I have a Delta power miter. It is solid, super-accurate, and has
plenty of power. No problem going through 2 inch stock. No problem
working accurate to 1/4 degree, 1/128''. It has a blade brake which
works quite well. It is portable, but heavy (I love Delta's cast iron
construction - great stability). I remember paying about $175 for it
retail.
