Q1.4 Can I start a discussion about soccer ("calcio") on s.c.i?

To talk about soccer is not forbidden. There have been flame
wars in the past and many netters think that although soccer is
part of the Italian culture long discussions of the topic belong
to rec.sport.soccer. Somebody of course thinks that soccer is
not culture and that it is even degrading to talk about it but
they are not forced to listen to you if you decide to post
something about soccer. There are kill files that allow any
user to filter out specific topics. It is important then
to remember that a meaningful subject for your posting is
always useful both for those looking for that information and
for those looking to avoid that information.
