The Net Station was a project whose goal was to create a computer architecture and operating system that would be freely distributed on the net. An agreement on the architecture, etc. was never reached, and the project seems to have been abandoned. The thread does see occasional revival, but little practical progress has been reported lately (to the group, at least). There are unconfirmed reports that the project is still being worked on, but details are presently unavailable.
