If A Tree Falls - var. (Rhino 72495, September 17, 1996) Vince Welnick plays
on this album, which includes "The Devil And The Trees" (3:45), co-written by
Robert Hunter.
Second Sight - Second Sight (Shanachie 5716, October 15, 1996) Jerry Garcia,
Bob Weir, and Vince Welnick appear on this album by Henry Kaiser, Bob Bralove,
and Bobby Strickland.
Television's Greatest Hits: Volume Six - var. (Tee Vee Toons 1800,
November 5, 1996) This compilation of television soundtracks includes the
theme music to the "New Twilight Zone" television program by the Grateful
Dead, and the theme to the 1981 series "Vietnam: A Television History" which
was scored by Mickey Hart.
The Vineyard Sound - Volume Three - var. (Avex/Critique, 888-773-6864,
http://www.petersimon.com) This 1996 collection of songs performed by
Martha's Vineyard artists includes "The Wheel" performed by Mischief.
The Arista Years (Best Of The Grateful Dead) - Grateful Dead (Arista 18934) A
two CD "best of" collection of the Grateful Dead's releases on the Arista
label. Released on October 15, 1996.
Dozin' At The Knick - Grateful Dead (Arista 14025) A three-CD release from
the March 24, 25, and 26, 1990 shows at the Knickerbocker Arena in Albany, New
York. The "first set" is a composite from March 24 and 25, 1990. It includes
the entire second set from March 25, 1990, and a portion from the second set
from March 26, 1990. Released on October 29, 1996. The cover features a "Rip
van Winkle" character in front of the street scene at the Knickerbocker
Arena. This could be considered the fourth in the "From The Vault" series.
Count Basie Remembered (Volume One - Recorded Live In Hamburg) - The New York
Allstars (Nagel Hayer Records, Nagel-Heyer 31, November 2, 1996) Bob Weir
wrote the liner notes for this album.
Selections From The Arista Years 1977 - 1995 - Grateful Dead (Arista 30632)
Released on January 13, 1997, this is a 14 track "best of" taken from the
"The Arista Years" album.
Dick's Picks Volume 7 - Grateful Dead (Grateful Dead GDCD 4027) Released in
March, 1997. A three CD release of songs taken from the September 9 to 11,
1974 shows at the Alexandra Palace in London, England. The cover shows the
British-flagged SYF flying carpet ticket.
Dick's Picks Volume 7 - Grateful Dead (GDPD 4027, Grateful Dead Records, 48-50
Steele Road, London, NW10 7AS) These are the UK and European released CDs.

Jerry Garcia plays this compilation album of Acoustic Disc artists. Included
is a bonus track of Jimmie Rodgers' "Blue Yodel #9", recorded by Jerry
Garcia and David Grisman during Garcia's final studio session in July, 1995.
Fire On The Mountain: Reggae Celebrates The Grateful Dead - var. (Pow Wow
POW 7462) Various reggae artists interpret Grateful Dead songs on this CD
released in April, 1996.
How Sweet It Is - Jerry Garcia Band (BMG/Arista 4051) These recordings from
April and August 1990 at the Warfield Theatre in San Francisco were released
on April 15, 1997.
Relix Records Best of Blues, Vol. 1, featuring Jorma Kaukonen - var. (Relix
RRCD 2086, April 15, 1997) Bob Weir appears on this CD.
Relix's Best of Kingfish - Kingfish (Relix RRCD 2084, April 15, 1997) This
album includes Willie Dixon's "Hidden Charms". The cover is similar to the
first Kingfish album (Round/UA RX 108 RX-LA564-G) cover, in that it has
Neptune riding a winged fish over the waves, but against a blue wave
background.
Furthur - var. (Hybrid HYB 20012) Released on May 13, 1997. Artists who
performed on the first (1996) Furthur Festival tour are featured. Included
are versions of "Bertha" by Los Lobos (which is also on "Just Another Band
From East L.A."), "Fire On The Mountain" by Mickey Hart's Mystery Box,
"I Need A Miracle" by Ratdog, and a live "Jack Straw" by Bruce Hornsby.
Furthur More - var. (Hybrid HYB 20003) Released in June, 1997. More music
from artists which appeared on the 1996 Furthur Festival tour. Included on
this CD are "All Along The Watchtower" (recorded at the Liberty State Park
show in 1996) with Bob Weir, a live "Proud Mary" > "Not Fade Away" from 1996,
"St. Stephen" > "Cassidy" by Ratdog, "Terrapin Station" > "I Know You Rider"
by Bruce Hornsby (which is from "The Concert For The Rock and Roll Hall Of
Fame" CD), and a studio track by Mickey Hart and Planet Drum.
