Heart's Desire - The Henry Kaiser Band (Reckless RECKD 19, Reckless Records,
1401 Haight St., San Francisco, CA 94117) This live record includes Tom
Constanten on a version of "Dark Star > A Love Supreme > Dark Star". Released
in March, 1990. A few bars of "Dark Star" and "China Cat Sunflower" are
played at the end on "Are You Experienced".
Heart's Desire - The Henry Kaiser Band (Reckless Records, 1401 Haight St., San
Francisco, CA 94117) The CD has fewer selections than the double album.
A Night On The Town - Bruce Hornsby and the Range (RCA/BMG 2041-1) Garcia
plays on "Barren Ground" and "Across The River". Released in June, 1990.
Without A Net - Grateful Dead (Arista AL3 8634) A live album recorded during
the Spring, 1990 tour, with some vocals re-dubbed in the studio. Released
September 25, 1990 as a three record, two cassette, and two CD package, this
is the world's grandest, largest, best live recording (or so the sticker on
the release package says). On the cassette and CD releases, "Bird Song"
follows "Cassidy", while on the record, "Bird Song" precedes "One More
Saturday Night". The album is deadicated to Clifton Hanger (a.k.a. Brent
Mydland). The probable performance dates are: "Feel Like A Stranger"
(October 9, 1989), "Mississippi Half-Step Uptown Toodeloo" (March 21, 1990),
"Walkin' Blues" (October 23, 1989), "Althea" (March 15, 1990), "Cassidy"
(February 25, 1990), "Bird Song" (March 25, 1990), "Let It Grow" (March 14,
1990), "China Cat Sunflower/I Know You Rider" (April 1, 1990), "Looks Like
Rain" (March 28, 1990), "Eyes Of The World" (March 29, 1990) (vocals probably
overdubbed), "Victim Or The Crime" (March 21, 1990), "Help On The Way/
Slipknot!/Franklin's Tower" (March 30, 1990), "One More Saturday Night"
(March 24, 1990), and "Dear Mr. Fantasy" (April 1, 1990).

skeleton in a clown costume, with one eye being the CD hole), a 17 inch by 22
inch foldout color poster, and a sixteen page booklet with band photos.
At The Edge - Mickey Hart (Rykodisc RCD 10124) This musical companion to
Mickey Hart's book "Drumming At The Edge Of Magic". Personnel includes: Jerry
Garcia, Babatunde Olatunji, Jose Lorenzo, Taro S. Hart, Airto, Zakir Hussain,
Creek Hart, and Sikiru Adepoju. Released in October, 1990.
The Cauldron Journey Of Healing - Nicki Scully (CAU 3, available from
Ladyslipper, Inc., P.O. Box 3124-R, Durham, NC 27715, (800) 634-6044, (919)
683-1570) A meditation tape by Nicki Scully, with a musical score by Roland
Barker and Jerry Garcia. Side One of this cassette release includes narration
by Nicki Scully, and Side Two is just the musical score.
OutSides - Tom Constanten (Tom Constanten, P.O. Box 20195, Oakland, CA 94620)
Includes "Electronic Study #3" (recorded in Bruxelles, September 1-4, 1962, at
the Studio APELAC) which was used in the track "We Leave The Castle" on
"Anthem Of The Sun". "Alaric's Premonition" is very similar to "What's Become
Of The Baby". Released in November, 1990 on cassette.
Superstitious Blues - Country Joe McDonald (Ragbaby/Rykodisc RCD 10201) Garcia
plays on "Superstitious Blues" (3:48), "Starship Ride" (3:06), "Clara Barton"
(3:34) and "Blues For Michael" (6:48), recorded at Fantasy Studios in Berkeley
in Spring, 1990. Released on January 22, 1991. Ragababy Records, PO Box
193316, S.F., CA 94119.
Fast Food For Thought - Wartime (Chrysalis 21753) Recorded at the Zion House
O' Flesh in the Winter of 1989. This short (29:02) release from 1990 by Henry
Rollins and Andrew Weiss (bass) with Sim Caim (drums) includes a version of
"Franklin's Tower" (7:38).
Fast Food For Thought - Wartime featuring Henry Rollins (Chrysalis
0946 3 21753 2 8) A CD version released in 1994.
Five Man Acoustical Jam - Tesla (Geffen 24311) An acoustic concert taped in
Philadelphia during the Summer of 1990. This album includes a shortened
version of "Truckin'" (final chorus > "...Sweet Jane..." > the next verse's
chorus > bridge with a few alterations) on the track "Comin' Atcha
Live/Truckin'" (7:23).
The Jack Kerouac Collection - Jack Kerouac (Rhino 70939) A boxed set of the
complete recorded works of Jack Kerouac. The 40 page booklet includes
commentary by Jerry Garcia. Released in 1990.
Blues In The Mississippi Night - var. (Rykodisc RCD 90155) This single CD
features Memphis Slim, Big Bill Broonzy, and Sonny Boy Williamson, as told
and recorded by Alan Lomax. It comes packaged with a thick booklet in a
double-CD box and the liner notes say "Thanks to Mickey Hart".
