" Someone, I think it was Ingrid, just posted a notice that cadmium was used in amalgams placed in the 1950s. I got my first filling around 1956, so I may well have had some cadmium in my mouth until I was 41. I think cigarettes also contain cadmium; I was a smoker from 1965-1985."
Your arsenic levels are possibly from the cigarettes. Tobacco contains a lot of arsenic. Lead is also in tobacco, and from the combustion engine exhausts. Improving your sulfoxidation (Molybydium/B12/ Folate/Biotin/B1/B6 ) and then supplementing with thiol-containing nutrients like NAC and taking also decent doses of E-vitamin may boost your situation considerably, even if you feel OK already. I have gotten GREAT results with rather high Moly/zinc/mg/mn/B12/Folate/Biotin/B1/B6 supplementation along with NAC & E vitamin and some dithiol chelation. Energy levels seem to raise little by little. I am very sure that the liver and it's sulfur metabolism and mercury/thiol relations are very very key to address if one wants to get better, in addition to doing some dental job with the rear "mercury-geezer-molars" that are too saturated and infected, along with nice fatty/vegetarian diet, PLAIN Acidophilus yoghurt, and some phosphates without sugar hopefully, and taking enough calcium/d/mag to prevent decalcification due to those very important phosphates that are needed in ATP, PAPS that is detox-compound in liver etc.
NAC is widely available in almost ANY health-food-store in US, and it is also a prescription free product in Scandinavia at least under names Mucomyst, Mucoporetta and lately even as "ANTIAMALGAM" (in Finland at least..), though, I like pure NAC that has no sugar. Also, I would like to say that DagFinn is propably very right saying that is not ESSENTIAL whether the mercury is methylated or acetylated or oxidated or what ... The common poison in these chemical molecyles in addition to elemental charged mercury is the mercury.
Please, think it this way, that the mercury causes the immune system to falter/supress/autoimmune through direct thiol-toxic effect, which then can let the infections roam free, and as there is MOST mercury in the JAWS, GUT and KIDNEYS and important portion in the liver, one can as well just think that it is the sheer amount of mercury that causes the infections that then methylate the mercury, which may not really have anything else to do but causes mercury to cross the placental barrier, and maybe into the brains a little more than divalent mercury ... Please consider the methylation as a natural action of bacteria and nothing more. It is the MERCURY in the mercury poisoning, I do not totally agree that the methylated mercury itself is any "CRUX" here, but I do THINK that the INFECTION caused by the mercury that then methylates is very important piece to be treated, and I think that getting rid of those infections is very ncessary, and it propably needs that one has to have the mercury residue removed from the mouth even after filling replacement with composites. Once the mercury is taken out, there will be no more methyl or any mercury either.
Most mercury poisoned people need to do most of the work for themselves, even if there are a few researchers that place dental fillings in sheep and monkeys and look what happened 30 days after when the fillings sizes were very small like 450 mg of merc etc. Even then the levels were very excessive compared to safe. I wish they would study what happens when HUMAN beings receive 20 fillings, that 8-10 of them contain up to SEVERAL grams of mercury a piece, and whom keep those for about 30 years, having them replaced witn new fillings approximately every 2-3 years. Maybe such results would be still too extreme to be accepted even when they are true.
Some researchers know what it takes to bring blood SH-groups down to 200's from normal 700+ umols/liter. That is what happened to me during the mercury removal, and it took almost a year to recover blood SH-groups even to subadequate 500+ level, and still, one can have very low GSH levels and poor sulfoxidation even 5 years after, bit fortunately one can also get better with right nutrition ...

We all agree that CASE STUDIES are necessary to the Amalgam issue. Because we do not have clearly defined symptoms for a doctor to say - oh, here is a mercury poisoning case ( this only happens when it is an acute obvious case) We are talking about recognizing micro-mercurial poisoning, for the physicians here I am going to post the chemical indicators or early warning signs of mercury toxicity. We do not have case histories because we are not recognized in the doctors office.
