Ear Me This Night". ["La Historia que No Conte Conan Doyle" en

Jardiel Poncela, Enrique: "The Newest Adventures of Sherlock Holmes"
["Las Novesimas Aventuras de Sherlock Holmes"]. Some fun parodies
written in 1928. Includes: "Prologue" ["Prologo"], "The Whitechapel
Trained Snake" ["La Serpiente Amaestrada de Whitechapel"], "The Man of
the Navy- Blue Beard" ["El Hombre de la Barba Azul Marino"], "The
Illiterate Mummy of the Craig Museum" ["La Momia Analfabeta del Craig
Museum"], "The Incomprehensible Anarchist of Picadilly Circus" ["El
Anarquista Incomprensible de Picadilly Circus"], "The Black Mass of
Soho Quarter" ["La Misa Negra del Barrio de Soho"], The Cold of the
Pole" ["El Frodo del Polo"] and "The Incongruous Assassinations of

This last was re-written in 1936 as the short-novel "The thirty-eight

possible suspects are murdered (the 'half assassination' is
