I have the PC 5" variable speed random orbit sander and have not had any
problems with the stickit disks coming off. In fact, sometimes I find that
after I peel them off, there is still some glue backing left on the disk.
I use the disks sold by my PC dealer - they are made by 3M and say Porter
Cable on the packaging.
As an aside, I would recommend to anyone buying a ROS to get a variable speed
unit. In the case of the Porter Cable sanders, the additional money is
trivial. The sander can be very aggressive when run at full speed, and I have
found that a slightly slower speed is better, unless I have a lot of material
to remove.
