In addition to the usual recommendations of 2+ hp and 1/2" collet, I would
recommend one with the large adjustment knob on the top. This is always
useful but makes a big difference if you are going to mount it in a router
table. Makita used to make one but, inexplicably, dropped it. I have a
Ryobi that FWW recommended but I don't know if they still make it. I see
thet the new Freud router does have it.
For a variety of operations, such as cutting tenons, you can make successive
cuts, adjusting the knob a little bit for each cut, until you get a perfect fit.
This give a "custom" fit with no tedious mesuring and marking.
