2e. Trimming Postings To Save On Bandwidth

Some people pay for their online time. If you are posting a response
to another person's posting, try to trim down their quote. This gets
worse as people quote upon other people's quotes, and so on and so
forth, until the quotes alone fill up a few screens. The reader can
go back and read the original posting if s/he wants to. Posting a
response to someone else's long posting, with just a short "I agree
entirely!" is a waste of bandwidth. Refrain from posting something
like this unless you have something more to contribute to the
discussion. But if you MUST, then at least delete the bulk of the
quote. Try to indicate that you are omitting parts of the post by
using the mark of ellipses, etc. (i.e. [...], [extraneous stuff
deleted], [snip snip]).

Please delete other people's signatures. And keep yours to four
lines or less; this is standard netiquette.
