Description

This article is from the Dance FAQ, by eijkhout@jacobi.math.ucla.edu (Victor Eijkhout) with numerous contributions by others.

0. Suppliers of Dancewear

Most of these names and addresses were originally drawn from ads. Whole-
salers and manufacturers are not listed here unless they also sell to the
general public. The list is organized geographically (U. S. East and West
of Mississippi; Canada; Europe) and in alphabetical order within each
section. Since I assume that the majority of people who consult this list
will be individual dancers rather than teachers or schools, I have flagged
suppliers whose ads. say "write on your letterhead" (or words to that
effect) with a warning, "====> Teachers only." When a vendor appears to
specialize in a particular kind of merchandise, I have added a note--e.g.,
"Costumes" or "Pointe shoes" at the end of the entry. For a list of shoe
suppliers, see also shoes.txt in the Dancers' Archive.

If you discover that a phone number, e-mail address, or URL is wrong,
please notify me at twp@panix.com. I can't verify all the numbers myself,
and when one is changed, I never hear about it (naturally!).

It may help if you tell any supplier with whom you do business that you
found their name in this FAQ. Doing so will alert them to this FAQ's
existence, and they may be able to help us keep this list up to date.

This FAQ will be posted bimonthly (odd-numbered months) in alt.arts.ballet,
and to rtfm.mit.edu, where most FAQs are available through anonymous FTP.
It can also be found on the Web at
ftp://math.ucla.edu/pub/eijkhout/dance/ballet/wear.txt
See also: Ballet-modern FAQ, posted bimonthly to alt.arts.ballet and
archived at the same sites as this FAQ.

Comments, corrections, and additions should be posted to alt.arts.ballet
or (better) sent to me at twp@panix.com. Comments from suppliers listed
here (or not listed here) are particularly welcome.

This FAQ is provided as is without any express or implied warranties.
While every effort has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the
information contained in this article, the author assumes no
responsibility for errors or omissions, or for damages resulting from
the use of the information contained herein.

Note particularly that the addresses and URLs of vendors sometimes
change without notice and that it is not feasible to check every entry
to make sure it is still valid. If someone tells me an address or URL
is no longer correct, I delete the URL, if that's the problem; other-
wise I delete the entire listing. (===> Vendors note: if you used to
be on this list and suddenly find your listing has disappeared, this
is most likely the reason; just drop me an e-mail with your current
address, etc., and back you'll go.)

Inclusion in this list does not constitute endorsement or recommenda-
tion of the supplier; exclusion does not constitute an unfavorable
evaluation. The author has no financial interest in any of the
companies listed here.
