Peter van Aarle quotes the March 1995 gossip column from
AVN:
According to "neutral" table guests and passersby
witnesses, the showdown between Ed and the Christian
brothers, Vivid's golden boys, began when Ed approached
a young woman at their table with a proposition for work.
The Christians dismisses Ed with a "she's not in the
business". When Ed persisted a bit in his persuasions to
the young damsel, the brothers testily snapped something
like; "Why don't you leave her alone? She doesn't wanna
work for you, and your movies suck, so why don't you fuck
off."
From there, voices were raised and egos verbally bruised,
causing Ed to wail his awards statue a la Cecil Fielder
at the bottom of the ninth. Table guest Horny Henry
intercepted Ed's swing with his hand, which rewarded him
with a trip to the hospital. ... The Christian's are
preparing a lawsuit, so is Powers...
