FUJITSU M2372K JUMPER SETTING
Jumper Setting
==============
Terminal SW1 Main PCA --------------------- Key 3(2^2) 2(2^1) 1(2^0) Disk address -------------------------------------------- OFF OFF OFF 0 OFF OFF ON 1 OFF ON OFF 2 OFF ON ON 3 ON OFF OFF 4 ON OFF ON 5 ON ON OFF 6 ON ON ON 7 Keys 1 to 3 are used for setting the disk logical address (0 - 7). Switch positions are binary coded.
Key 4 ----- ON Enable OFF Disable
This drive supports the tag 4/5 functions. The user can select these
functions by setting Key 4. In the OFF position tag 4/5 are
disabled. Control units that do not support tag 4/5 require this set
to OFF.
Key 5 ----- ON Enable write protection OFF Disable write protection
Key 6 ----- OFF Set device type to M2372K This key will always be OFF.
Tag 4/5 feature must be enabled to obtain device type status.
Key 7 ----- ON Variable Soft sector mode OFF Hard Sector mode
The user can select either hard sector or soft sector mode. In the
case of Hard Sector, the number of sectors per disk revolution must
be set.
Terminal SW2 Main PCA
---------------------
Key 1 ----- ON Calibration seek performed OFF Normal
Calibration seek must be executed at any time the main PCA is
replaced to optimise the servo control coefficient. To execute the
calibration seek set key 1 to the ON position and turn on the power.
Calibration seek is performed automatically. After completion, the
ST0 LED will blink. Set key 1 to the OFF position to put the drive
in the READY state.
Key 2 ----- OFF Not used
Key 3 ----- ON Vertical mounting (on side) OFF Horizontal mounting
This key adjusts the servo characteristics that depend on the
orientation of the drive.
NOTE: A wrong setting may cause seek or write offtrack errors.
Key 4 ----- OFF Not used
Terminal SW3 Main PCA ===================== Sector counting Value ------------------------------ Keys 7 128 (2^7) 6 64 (2^6) 5 32 (2^5) 4 16 (2^4) 3 8 (2^3) 2 4 (2^2) 1 2 (2^1)
Terminal SW4 Main PCA --------------------- Sector counting Value ------------------------------- Keys 7 16384 (2^14) 6 8192 (2^13) 5 4096 (2^12) 4 2048 (2^11) 3 1024 (2^10) 2 512 (2^9) 1 256 (2^8)
SW3 and SW4 are used in conjunction with each other and detemine the
required number of bytes per sector.
Terminal SW5 Main PCA --------------------- Key 3 2 1 Delay in seconds ----------------------------------- OFF OFF OFF 0 OFF OFF ON 1 OFF ON OFF 2 OFF ON ON 3 ON OFF OFF 4 ON OFF ON 5 ON ON OFF 6 ON ON ON 7
Specifies the the startup timing delay of the spindle motor to reduce the accumulation of +24V peak load current on power up in the case where a multiple drive supply is used.
