3.9 Is it possible to learn tantra yoga or karezza without a guru or teacher?

Some teachers of tantra yoga insist that a guru
must initiate one into tantra. Most authorities
within Hindu tantric communities caution that
guidance is extremely important and that getting
disciplines out of (possibly erroneous) texts may
be hazardous to those who are not properly
prepared.

On the other hand, karezza promotes learning from
observation of one's partner -- a mutual
initiation, as it were.

Many people report that they have received a
"transmission" or "revelation" about sacred sex
through conversation, or by reading old books,
usenet posts, or pages on the world wide web.
