The "poor man's" copyright method does not involve registering one's
work with a national or international copyright office. Instead, the
author of the work sends a copy of their work to {him,her}self via
registered mail. The envelope must remain sealed.
You can use this method to register your works, but the general
consensus is that you should register with a copyright office instead,
to get the maximum protection available to you under the law.
