18 Remastered US CD releases (AC/DC) part2

FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK (WE SALUTE YOU) Atco 92412-2
Release Date: 21/06/94

Sound - The first thing I noticed about this disc is how LOUD it is
now!
"Put The Finger On You" screams out of the speakers compared
to
the original Atlantic cd. The sound is more full from top to
bottom. The heavy duty Mutt Lange production really comes
through. The sound on this disc just blows away the Atlantic
version, which is a real surprise. I didn't expect a lot of
difference on this given the care put into the production
and recording. A pleasant surprise! Re-mastered ( an
excellently
so) by Ted Jensen.

Packaging - The cd is packaged now to re-create the album. Thankfully
the ugly red lettered spine is gone, the graphics are
consistent
on the whole disc. And on the inside sleeve, the live stage
shot
from the album gatefold is reproduced...yes! Also, the cd
itself
has an old style Atco label, similar to the High Voltage/Let
There
Be Rock albums.

HIGH VOLTAGE Atco 92413-2
Release Date: 21/06/94

Sound - The bottom end has really improved on this one. The drums and
especially the bass have some real punch to them. You can
really
notice the difference during "Rock 'n' Roll Singer".
Everything
is so up front and powerful. When Angus and Mark come in after
Malcolm's opening guitar part, the song really kicks into
gear!
This disc sounds so much better than the Atlantic cd. Get it!
Again, a fine re-mastering job by Ted Jensen.

Packaging - The front and back are pretty much the same as the
Atlantic
which was consistent with the album. The spine now matches the
rest of the package, black lettering on an orange background.
The
inside of the insert has a cool orange back color, with the
old style AC/DC label from the cover in a lighter shade. Also,
the disc itself has the old style Atco label.

DIRTY DEEDS DONE DIRT CHEAP Atco 92414-2
Release Date: 19/07/94

Sound - Fuller from top to bottom. Like High Voltage, much more
powerful.
The highlights of this remaster, though, are: 1) The version
of
the song "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" is the full length
version. That is, it has four 'dirty deeds and they're done
dirt cheap...' refrains at the end, not just two. 2) "Ain't No
Fun Waitin' Round To Be A Millionaire" is about a minute
longer
than on the original cd. Yet another excellent re-mastering
job
by Ted Jensen.

Packaging - Similar to the Atlantic release. The back is now like the
album back, and not the close up picture from the Atlantic
cd. Lyrics are still included, the spine is now custom (black
lettering on a pinkish red background), and the cd label is
older style Atco. That is, older than the High Voltage and
FTATR labels.
