- Director 'Sam Raimi' (qv) wanted high-school friend 'Bruce Campbell' (qv) to
play the lead role, but the producers didn't think that Campbell could
handle it. Campbell played Ash in "The Evil Dead (1983)" (qv) and
"Evil Dead II (1987)" (qv), both also directed by Raimi.
