There are a number of levels of SCENAR Practice -

  • for personal and home use
  • as an adjunct to other healing modalities
  • as a stand alone discipline for those wishing the become a Registered SCENAR Therapist

The intended use determines the model of SCENAR device to be selected, which then also requires the choice of appropriate training and trainer.  These pages are intended to provide support in making the relevant selection.

The efficiency of support on offer will depend on the information provided to ISTA and on feed-back received from anybody who has followed through with the information here provided.

For Personal and Home Use

Which SCENAR device?

We tried for a number of years to secure the collaboration of manufacturers in creating guidelines towards answering this question.

For a number of reasons, some understandable, most not, we failed.

The best advice therefore is to conduct your detailed research on this site and the many others on the Internet, even ask questions on ISTA's public discussion group, http://groups.yahoo.com/group/scenar_ista and then follow your intuition.  Be sure that the supplier offers suitable training (ISTA recommends 10-modules over 18 months) and a good user's manual.

As a neutral professional body ISTA cannot advise on individual models and makes; our members are however usually ready to discuss their preferences.

Should a Home / Personal User Seek Training?

Even if the manual accompanying your device is comprehensive (they usually are not) and your intended use is limited, we would still recommend training with an experienced Scenar practitioner.  Your SCENAR device is highly sophisticated and in the right hands can achieve near miracles if properly applied.  To get the most from your device, and to deal with a variety of home applications, we would always recommend at minimum an initial 1/2 day training, with additional training programmes as you gain in confidence.

If your supplier does not provide training, or if you have acquired a device and have not had any training, consider 1-on-1 training, or register that you are interested in a Home User Training Event and we shall arrange for a suitably qualified trainer to get in touch with you.

Some suppliers, including our commercial support organisation, ISTA Training & Support Ltd. (ISTATS) will not provide home devices without training.

Consider also becoming a Friend of ISTA, which will give you access to the vast knowledge of our members who in our FAQ Sections will either have already provided an answer to your question, or will provide one when posted on our notice board.

Which Trainer?

Some devices come with training included; many don't.  If you might one day wish to become a Registered SCENAR practitioner, you would be well advised to commence your training with somebody who has registered with us as a trainer.  .

Do you need training if using Scenar as an Adjunct to existing Medical / Healing Skills?

If you wish to give your patients the best that Scenar offers, then the answer is an unequival "yes" - any manual accompanying your device (we will review each in due course) may start you off, even give you encouraging results, but will not give you the depth of knowledge to deal confidently with almost any situation you are likely to encounter.  Your SCENAR device is highly sophisticated and in the right hands can achieve near miracles; it was designed to emulate an intelligent system capable of interacting with the intelligent system that is the human body.   To get the most from your device, we would always recommend at least two 1- 5 day training programmes, or much longer if you wish to become a Registered Practitioner.  We recommend seeking training from an ISTA-registered trainer.

If your supplier does not provide training, or if you have acquired a device and have not had any training, consider 1-on-1 training, or register that you are interested in a suitable Training Event and we shall arrange for a suitably qualified trainer to get in touch with you.  Please refer to our training section to see what our training recommendations are.  Individual training organisations will have adopted their own programme variations.

Consider either becoming a Friend of ISTA or a student member, both will give you access to the vast knowledge of our members who will either have already provided an answer to your questions, or will provide one.

Which Trainer?

Some devices come with training included; many don't.  As you are probably aiming to become a Registered SCENAR practitioner, you would be well advised to commence your training with somebody who has registered with us as a trainer.  Please go here to find a listing of ISTA registered trainers.
