I have the Porter Cable. Great machine. I wouldn't worry about the
speed difference. You mention not having air? well an air sander
wouldn't work well for woodworking. It would (not direct experience
here so...) spit things like water and oil on your work. This don't
matter on an auto body but hardwood is another matter.
