I have one of these and I love it, but it is not a belt sander
replacement. If you are smoothing wide edge glued stock it works like
a charm. But if you are trying to sand a smooth joint where the rail
and stile meet in a face frame, you're in for a hell of a time.

It is very hard for me, (your mileage will vary), to remove
significant amounts of stock on narrow areas with this sander. I
bought it in an effort to not buy a belt sander.

To make a long story short, I also bought a belt sander. (AEG variable
speed).

This is the best of all worlds. 80 grit on the belt sander. 100 and
150 on the PC. and 220 on my palm sander. Few changeovers, and really
smooth finishes.

Don't get me wrong, the PC is a wonderful, scratchless sander, (even
with an 80 grit disk). But I don't feel it is a true belt sander
replacement.
