I bought the 1/6-sheet Ryobi palm sander 2-3 years ago, and love it.
The Ryobi was the second rated sander in the Fine Woodworking review,
but was the fastest (I think) at removing stock. They said that the
PC sander was smoother, but I find that hard to believe -- the Ryobi
feels about like a sewing machine, plus is about half the weight and
half the cost of the Porter-Cable.
I also have a PC 1/2-sheet sander, and it is wonderful, too.
