I need some advice on buying a belt sander. I'm prepared to spend
$150 to $200. I have several Makita tools and love them, but
their belt sanders don't seem as feature rich as others. I'm
leaning towards Bosch, AEG and Porter Cable but would consider
Ryobi, ELU, Milwaukee, etc. No Sears though.
Specifically, are the 3x21" models adequate for general hobbyist
woodworking?
What is the minimum amperage recommended?
Are the sanding frames really useful?
Will the new random orbital sander by Porter Cable really replace
a good belt sander?
Where is the best place to buy power tools? I have made several
purchases from Tool On Sale and have been very pleased. Mail order
is the way to go as far as I am concerned.
