"The Workbench Book" also has some good information about vises.
You are referred there for general inforamation, as well as
details about Record vises and the Emmert pattern-making vises.
However, as was pointed out to me privately in email a while back,
since the publication of Landis' book, Lee Valley Tools/Veritas has
introduced "The Tucker Vise".
Lee Valley does not market the Tucker as a pattern-making vise, but
I've heard a few different sources comparing it favourably with
the Emmert. You might want to take a look.
