By the way, just in case anybody is interested. I sucessfully adapted the
$30 Sears dovetail kit to work with my Ryobi R501 router (what the hell,
it was cheap). The Sears router template doesn't exactly fit, but it is
made out of plastic (except for the bushing around the bit) so I cut it
out with a coping saw to fit the base of the router. Works pretty good
considering. The only problem is you have to prop up the plastic finger
guides because the router is a bit heavy and tends to bend them otherwise.
