About a year ago (in a horsepower frenzy) I bought a Hitachi TR-12 plunge
router. Ever since I have wished that I have bought the less expensive and
more usable Porter-Cable 690. The Hitachi is a fine router but I rarely
need that much power. With the Porter-Cable you can buy the D-handle or the
plunge router base and you're set.
