I'm in the 6" Jointer market too, so I thought I'd give you a few more
options to mull over.

These are the models I found in the $300-500 range:

Table

Company Model	Sz in/out total Fence Motor CPM wt# $US ship $total
------- ----- -- ------ ----- ----- ----- --- --- --- ---- ----
Transpower 680 6" 46 4x30 4/4 13500 295 50 345 eb
Lobo JT-1006 6" 43 4x 4/4 250 299 58 357
Lobo JT-1007 7" 43? 4x 4/4 309 58 367
Delta 6 Motor. 6" 35.5 4x24 3/4 12900 143 379 0 379
Grizzly G1182 6" 47 4x29 4/4 260 345 90 435
Sun Hill CT60L 6" 52 4/4 13500 315 389 49 438
Jet JJ6CS 6" 42.5 4x28 3/4 13500 258 445 0 445 eb
Powermatic 53 6" 42 4x28 3/4 13500 198 480 0 480
(eb = extra set of blades included)

These six have front-mounted fences:
Enco 6 6" 42 4x36FM 4/4 13500 205 250 ?
Transpower 650A 6" 42 4x30FM 4/4 13500 285 50 335
Central Mach 6" 22/19? 42 4x27FM 4/4 15-18k 300 0 300
Reliant DD38 6" 19/22 42 4x36FM 3/4 13500 300 30 330
Woodtek 6 6" 19/22 42 ?x36FM 4/4 191 395 0 395
Northstate 6" FM 395 ?

(Prices are as advertised or seen in catalogs/Freight to Dallas, TX)

None of the companies specify how flat their tables are, and very few
specify the diameter of the cutter head. (Oh well...)

I've almost ruled out the front-mounted fence models, since there seems no
reason to have the additional risk that the infeed table will deform.

The ones I'm considering most seriously are: Grizzly G1182, Jet JJ6CS, and
Powermatic 53. The models with less known labels (Transpower, Lobo, and
Sun Hill) look good in their catalog, but they don't provide a written
warranty. Grizzly has a whole 90 day warranty(1 year on motors). The Jet
has a two year warranty, and the Powermatic is one year.

PS I'd love to buy a slightly used Delta DJ15 for $500. Any sellers?
