For those of you that have thickness planers, I want to get your input/opinions
for adjusting for the thickness. Some planers have the lower 'bed' raise up
to the cutters (style 1), other planers have the upper cutter deck lower down
to the bottom bed (style 2). I would like to know if you have found any
advantages or disadvantages of each of these adjustment styles.
I can see if you are using support extensions for planing long boards, that
the "style 1" type planer may cause you to keep adjusting the height of the
extensions if you plane the thickness too much. Thanks in advance for your
