3k.3 Who is at risk for acquiring hepatitis A?
International travelers and individuals residing in hepatitis A
endemic areas are at risk for acquiring disease. Other risk groups
include homosexual men, injecting drug users, hemophilic patients,
veterinary workers and certain research occupations working with
infected animals (particularly people working with non-human
primates). Workers at day care centers, institutions for the
developmentally disabled, food service establishments and healthcare
settings are also at some increased risk.
