This article is from the Watercooled VWs General FAQ, by Jan Vandenbrande with numerous contributions by others.
A: Karmann refers to the body builder for VW, which made/makes all
Sciroccos/Cabriolets/Corrados. Karmann has been around for a long time.
One of the most famous Karmann-VW projects was the Karmann Ghia,
which was a pretty thinly disguised Porsche.
Ghia is also still around, but now works with Ford.
Some of it from [e0ewqbwu@tuzo.erin.utoronto.ca].
