Hey, I am a member of a TT club here at UCSD. It's hardly two years old,and
it's pretty sad so far. We have K-mart tables, most fo which were donated.
We have two playable tables, and one really cruddy one. As for finances, we
really don't get crap from the school, becuase we'ere not an official 'club'
yet. As for membership fee, we charge $10 for each quarter. WE have around
15 members currently, and that's the only way to raise money to buy better
tables...we meet twice per week, Wed eve from 8:30-11:00, Fri eve from about
7:00-10:00. It's pretty fun, and we have players from 1000 to 2100. I believe
we have three or four players(all german) that are around the 2000 rating.
That really helps players around my level(+ - 1650) to improve. I've gotten
really close to one of them. Well, as for publicity, I am open for any
suggestions. WE are pretty young, and we need some help. As for tournaments,
we had one each quarter, but not anymore. The Intramural Staff here at UCSD
holds one each year, and they use our tables as well as the good one in
the game room(Stiga Elite).
