17 My phonograph does not work. What can I do?

There is one excellent book which explains how old
phonographs, gramophones and cylinder players work.
"The Compleat Talking Machine" by Eric Reiss. It is
also available from APSCO listed above. It explains how
to work on a phonograph to get it running again. It contains
detailed photographs.
