Jumper Plug Installation (PCB Rev. A/D2 or later)

The following jumpers are accessible to the user (use green jumper
plugs):
JP292 Pins 7 12 SCSI ID setting jumper
JP292 Pins 5-6 SCSI bus parity jumper
JP198 Pins 1 4 Terminator power on/off
JP257 Pins 1-2 Write protection jumper
JP257 Pins 3-4 Motor Start/Stop option
NOTE
The DK514C jumpers other than listed above are installed by the manu-
facturer and must not be replaced by the user (black jumper plugs).
NOTE
The JP261 located near the JP257 is used as for Motor Start/Stop
jumper in the P/B Rev. 0 and 1 PC board. The JP261 is replaced by
JP257 (Pin 3-4) in the P/B Rev. 2 or more board.

Note: Terminator power source is supplied to the terminator register
module from the host that pulls up the SCSI interface signals in the
controller so that the SCSI bus lines will not be pulled down when
DK514C power is turned down.
JP257 1-2 Write Protected
-------------------------
1-2 CLOSED Write protected. The disk can be only read and cannot be
written.
1-2 OPEN Read or write. The disk is enabled for both read and
write. x
JP257 3-4 Motor Start/Stop jumper
---------------------------------
3-4 CLOSED The motor start/stop option is not selected. The spindle
motor is started when power is turned on. x
OPEN The motor start/stop option is selected. The spindle
motor can be started or stopped by using SCSI command.
When the motor start/stop option is selected, the drive enters the
motor stop state when its power is turned on. Use the Start/Stop Unit
(1BH) command to start or stop the drive.
NOTE
When motor start/stop option is not used, the controller does not
respond to the host about 35 sec from Power turn-on to Drive Ready.
The terminator of the DK514C other than the last drive of SCSI Daisy
Chain MUST be removed.
