21. How do I get a staff writing deal? (Songwriting)

Some publishers offer writers staff writing deals. In this case, the
staff writer is an employee of the publisher. The staff writer is paid
a regular salary to write. There is usually some requirement on the
part of the writer to have a minimum number of songs cut by recording
artists.

It usually takes a fair amount of experience and commercial success to
get a staff writing deal.
