sampler available through Boston Acoustics. It consists of previously

Voices Of The Rainforest - Steven Feld (Rykodisc RCD 10173, 1991) Soundscape
of a day in the life of the Kaluli people of Papua New Guinea's rainforest, a
haunting record of an endangered culture in its vanishing environment. Part
of Mickey Hart's "The World" series.

Honor The Earth Powwow: Songs Of The Great Lakes Indians (Rykodisc RCD 10199)
Produced by Thomas Vennum Jr. and Mickey Hart. This recording, made in
July 20, 1990, in northern Wisconsin near Lake Superior, documents a Native
American Powwow. It features drummers and singers of the Ojibwa, Menominee,
and Winnebago tribes of the Great Lakes region. This is a celebration of life,
to honor the earth and thank the Creator with a night of song, dance, and
drums. Part of Hart's "The World" series.

compilation of covers of Grateful Dead songs, especially recorded for this
album, and produced by Ralph Sall. It includes: Los Lobos ("Bertha"), Bruce
Hornsby ("Jack Straw"), The Harshed Mellows ("U.S. Blues"), Elvis Costello
("Ship Of Fools"), Suzanne Vega ("China Doll > Cassidy"), Dwight Yoakam
("Truckin'"), Warren Zevon and David Lindley ("Casey Jones"), The Indigo Girls
("Uncle John's Band"), Lyle Lovett ("Friend Of The Devil"), The Cowboy Junkies
("To Lay Me Down"), Midnight Oil ("Wharf Rat"), Burning Spear ("Estimated
Prophet"), Dr. John ("Deal"), and Jane's Addiction ("Ripple > The Other
One"). "U.S. Blues" was recorded by a makeshift group including Dan Baird and
Mauro Magellan of the Georgia Satellites, Mike Campbell, Benmont Tench and
Stan Lynch of the Heartbreakers, and vocalist Michelle Malone. Released
April 23, 1991. The artists, Mikio and William Giese, drew hidden faces of
animals in the rose on the front cover, and skeletons in the inner sleeve
artwork.

Deadicated: A Tribute To The Grateful Dead - var. (Arista 8669) This was also
released as a special promotional package consisting of an eight inch square
of heavy paper which folds out into a three panel picture with a pocket for
the CD. On the outside is the rainforest design in brown and the same design
appears inside in green. The artwork on the 7 inch square booklet cover is
the same as the cover, and includes two paintings by Mikio, photos of and
comments by each of the artists. The CD also has the rainforest design on it,
with one line of printing at the bottom.

Deadicated: A Tribute To The Grateful Dead - var. (Arista Records, Inc.
304179) This is a two record set made in West Germany and released in
England. It has the same graphics as the CD and the sleeve contains the same
information as the booklet.
