Use:

Sertindole or Serlect is an antipsychotic drug for the schizophrenia and related psychotic disorders. It is an atypical antipsychotic similar to clozapine or resperidone.

How It Works:

Sertindole or Serlect affects various neuro chemical transmitters in the body to alleviate psychosis.

Side Effects:

Sertindole or Serlect works as well as traditional antipsychotic drugs, but with fewer movement disorders. It is saved for second line therapy because there is the concern that it may cause arrhythmias.

Cautions for People:

Because Sertindole or Serlect can cause arrhythmias, people with existing cardiac problems should use it only with medical supervision.

Drug Interactions:

Sertindole or Serlect has the potential of causing drowsiness, thus in combination with any other drug that can also cause drowsiness, sedation may result.
