More drugs used for Allergy.

Use:

Olapatadine or Patanol is an antihistamine eye drop suitable for allergic eye reactions such as those seen in hayfever.

How It Works:

Olapatadine or Patanol blocks histamine 1 release and inhibits mast cell degranulation - both effects reduce inflammation and itch.

Side Effects:

Headache has been reported in about 7% of people using Olapatadine or Patanol. Sometimes the eye drop itself can cause eye irritation.

Cautions for People:

Olapatadine or Patanol is not suitable for people who have difficulty using eye drops, for example people with manual dexterity problems. It is longer acting that other anti allergy eye drops thus has to be applied only twice, not four times, daily.

Drug Interactions:

Olapatadine or Patanol use with other drugs, and specifically other eye drops, has not been examined.
