Do you own cats? =) Seriously, due to the higher power requirements
for the Dual Shock's vibration motors and cool looking red LED, it's
VERY susceptible to static electricity. There's really not much you
can do except be careful about what you do before playing. Also, don't
put your Dual Shock on a wool carpet or other static-inducing
furniture, don't let your pet play with your Dual Shock, and zap
yourself on a doorknob or something before you pick it up.
