A.2 How do I subscribe or unsubscribe?

The simplest way is to either choose to read gnu.chess in your
newsreader, or choose not to.

If you want to be added to or deleted from the mailing list, mail to
info-gnu-chess-request@gnu.org (not to the list or newsgroup itself).
