Curried Banana Soup

(modified from the Cranks' Cookbook)

* 50g butter
* 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
* 1 medium onion, ditto
* 1 tbs medium curry powder or paste
* 110g Basmati rice or fine polenta
* 1.25l chicken or veg stock
* 3 ripe bananas, chunked
* juice of half a lime
* salt, pepper

Melt butter. Saute garlic and onion until soft. Add curry. Cook 2-3
minutes. Add rice or polenta and stock. Boil, stirring
continuously. Simmer 25 minutes until ingredients are
soft. Cool. Liquidise. Add bananas. Liquidise until smooth. Return to
pan, add lime juice. Taste, season.

Garnish with sweet-potato chips.
