(by Shirley McNevich)
2 cups firmly packed Domino's dark brown sugar
2/3 cup softened butter
2 eggs
2/3 cup buttermilk (or regular milk with 1 tsp. cider vinegar)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup chopped black walnuts (optional)
3 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
In a mixer add brown sugar and butter--beat. Add eggs--beat until smooth. Add
vanilla, salt, baking powder, baking soda and cinnamon--beat. Add buttermilk--beat.
Add chopped nuts (optional)--beat. Add flour--beat. If it gets too stiff for the mixer,
continue by hand. Drop by teaspoonfuls on to greased cookie sheets. Bake at 350
degrees for 8-12 minutes.
