Black and Decker did indeed buy Elu (a well-established Swiss maker of
power tools) a couple of years ago. B&D treats Elu as their prestige
line,. They market Elu as a separate brand, and don't talk much about
the connection with Break and Disintegrate er, Black and Decker.
I have an Elu 1/4" router and their power planer. They are both nice
machines.
