Yes, but on the B&D professional. I thought it was caused by the dust
getting inside the motor. I could get it back to near normal by a thorough
cleaning - especially the commutator (remove carbon deposits from the brushes).
I called B&D and described the problem but they were of no help. Perhaps
you could call PC - please post results of your call! Has anyone else run
into this slow down problem on any sander? BTW, mine slowed down to the point
of almost stopping. It did not vibrate as yours does, but it started up slow,
then almost stopped, then continued to slowly increase to full speed. It too
continued to run for the rest of the day without problem, but after an overnight
rest the same startup problem reappeared. I thought it was on its last legs
so I bought a Makita rather than having the B&D repaired. Perhaps I was too
hasty. My only fear now after hearing of your experience is that this is common
and the repair cost might exceed the discounted price of a new unit.
