I recently acquired a used Rockwell belt sander. Its a real sturdy model
(can you say heavy?) that looks like it would last forever. It didn't.
The bearings in the front roller got real hot and nearly burned. Everything
else appears to be in good shape so I'd like to repair it.
First, is this a common problem? I noticed the bearings aren't sealed so
I'm assuming the bearings smoked because they weren't maintained. Will
proper maintenance prevent a recourrance or should I buy some extras?
Second, does anyone know how to get parts for a Rockwell sander? Is there
an 800 number?
