I've had the Jet 6" jointer now for two or three years. I feel it is
well built. It is stable and seems to have plenty of power. I have
not had any trouble with it at all.

I have not done anything with the knives yet. However, I acquired
a magna-set alignment device for when that time comes. Since I have
yet to use this I can't comment on it.

Obviously since I haven't changed/sharpened the blades the entire time
I owned the jointer you may rightly infer it hasn't been used an
excessive amount. What use I have made of it has been trouble-free.

The jointer came already assembled and aligned so I can't comment
on that end of it either. The manual is more than a one sheet exploded
view (it's fairly complete).

I give the Jet a thumbs-up. Let us know what you end up with and how
you like it.
