02 Jointer

I own a Shopsmith Mark V and am thinking about purchasing a jointer for it
again. Does any one have any comments on their Shopsmith jointer?
I would even consider a used one if the price was right.
There is also a company called, I beleive," Shop Mate" that advertises
a new 6" jointer for almost half the price of a Shopsmith, I think it is a
clone from Tiawan. They say it will fit the Shopsmith. The Shopsmith is a
4" jointer. Does any one have any reports on this one? I would not want to
purchase one of these without seeing or knowing more about it.
I am pleased with my Shopsmith tools so far with 3 years of use on them,
and I guess it all depends on how much you are into woodworking on how often
you use your jointer. I hear some people say" can't live without it" and others
"I hardly ever use it". I have done a variety of projects from cabinets to
jewelry boxes.
So I would appreciate any comments the rec.woodwrking community would have.

Thanks in advance
