Description

This article is from the Childhood Vaccinations FAQ, by Lynn Gazis-Sax lynng@alsirat.com with numerous contributions by others.

3c.14 How long does the rubella vaccine last?

The Merck Manual describes it as "sustained." (See also Q3c.4 for the
PDR's description of the duration of all the MMR-induced antibodies.)

Another reference, from Heather Madrone:

D. M. Horstmann "Controlling Rubella: Problems and Perspectives"
_Annals of Internal Medicine_, vol. 83, no. 3, pg. 412

Horstmann found reduced antibody formation 3-5 years after
administering the vaccine and 25% of those tested showed no immunity
to rubella at all.
