Shop Review: Nice neighborhood, the rooms were private, but small.
Provided candy, and other snacks while performing the tatooo.
Artist Review--Charley: Charley did great work!! His personality was
great, he told jokes, stories, and whatever else to keep the atmosphere
light. He was helpful in keeping my mind OFF of the pain:)

Shop Review: My after-the-fact research of what to expect from a good
tattoo
artist has described Mary's shop to a tee. Clean, not intimidating to the
first
(and only) timer like myself, thorough explanation of the process and
tools, and
they gave me a second sucker even after I laughed at the idea in the first
place.
Artist Review--Mary: Friendly, professional, customer-oriented, an overall
pleasant experience (minus the pain). I would definitely recommend her,
particularly to the introverted woman, I believe I was much more
comfortable with a female artist.

Shop Review: Sanitation is excellent. They use an autoclave, and have
actually helped write state and Federal tattoo shop guidelines. The
neighborhood is nice. Nothing impressive, but far from seedy. Privacy is
very good, with private "booths" for each artist, well-separated from the
waiting area.
Artist Review--Mick Michieli-Beasley <info [at] dragon-moon.com>: "Ms
Mick" as they call her, is wonderful. She has considering background in
tattooing, and you can get details at the shop's web site. She is
incredibly friendly and patient, and made the entire
process a pleasure. I can't recommend her highly enough.

professional. Plenty of privacy if needed. Easy access location.
Artist Review--David Shider: Incredibly friendly and patient and made the
entire process a pleasure. Soft spoken and he did a great job.

Shop Review: Ambrotos Tattoo is in the shopfront formerly occupied by
Fattyz Custom Tattoos. The shop is clean and tastefully decorated, located
in the older area of Silver Spring only blocks from a Metro station and
many fine ethnic restaurants. The surrounding area is one of the few
places where I feel comfortable walking around alone after dark. Inside
the studio, the individual cubicles are comfortable and well-decorated with
many things to look at while you are being tattooed. Body piercing is also
offered in the studio. The shop has an autoclave and does not reuse
needles. Each artist cubicle is private.
Artist Review--Mike Smith: Mike Smith is an experienced and talented
artist, on and off of skin. He's had a few years out on his own after
apprenticing, and really impressed me with his artistry and technical
skill. When given a very rough drawing of the desired outcome, he worked
with me for a long time to achieve the design I envisioned. Most of the
embellishments that I love the most about my pieces were his ideas. I feel
comfortable placing some artistic license into Mike's skilled hands. Mike
is a quiet guy while he's working, but that really didn't bother me. Mike
specializes in thick black outlines and rich shading, very much in the
traditional style, and his best pieces are definitely of timeless images
such as swallows, stars, hearts, pinup girls, and other ones which have
been popular for decades.

Shop Review: The shop was very clean and the art work was displayed openly
for everyone to browse. The moment you walked in someone was there to
answer any questions you had. The rooms were very private and away from
the waiting area.
Artist Review--Bill: Bill was great. He talked to you and made you feel
very comfortable during the whole process. He even talked about his
family. He did everything by the book and made sure you witnessed the
sanitation process.
